Dr. Fleming provides eye exams for glasses and medically necessary contact lens prescriptions, medical eye exams, as well as acts as liaison to our Co-managing Doctors in the northwest. Dr. Fleming also coordinates The Harman Eye Clinic On-Call Schedule and quarterly continuing education classes.

Michael J. Fleming, OD has been affiliated with Dr. Harman and The Harman Eye Clinic since 1994. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Washington in 1982, Bachelor of Science degree from Pacific University in 1983, and Doctor of Optometry from Pacific University College of Optometry in 1986.

After graduation, he practiced in the New York City metropolitan area and was affiliated with several clinics and practice modalities prior to returning to his native Pacific Northwest in 1990.

Dr. Fleming's special interests include pediatric eye care, refractive and cataract surgery co-management, specialty contact lens fitting and evaluation, and primary medical eyecare.

Dr. Fleming is Board Certified for diagnostic and therapeutic agent use. He has excellent experience working with pre and postoperative patients, whether it be cataract or laser surgery. He is a bright addition to our practice.

What to bring with you!

Make the most of your appointment time. Your Doctor will want to review your medical history as well as address your eye care concerns. You will get more out of your appointment if you stop now and prepare.

1. Bring any eyeglasses or contact lenses you currently wear.

2. Bring a list of all current medications.

3. Bring a list of serious illnesses or surgeries in your past.

4. Bring a list of your current illnesses or report on your wellness program.

5. Bring your insurance card and referral from your primary Doctor if your insurance requires a referral. Or, if you are paying cash, bring your credit card or checkbook. Payment will be expected at the time of your appointment and on the day of surgery. You may wish to take advantage of CareCredit or ChaseHealthAdvance, and can apply on-line before your appointment.
