Dr. Ballon performs CustomVue iLASIK, PRK, Verisyse Phakic Lens Implants, Refractive Lens Exchange, Cataract Surgery with standard or premium upgrade multifocal lenses, as well as holding a weekly retina clinic where fluorescein digital angiography can help diagnose diseases of the retina.
He is a seasoned surgeon and holds impressive credentials. Dr. Ballon believes, along with his partners, Dr. Harman and Dr. Wietharn, that the relationship between doctor and patient is the most important element to successful eye surgery.
Dr. Ballon is one of the first two surgeons in the state of Washington to perform phakic lens implants with the Verisyse lens.
Dr. Ballon is the first surgeon in the state of Washington to insert the ReZoom multifocal lens.
Dr. Ballon has practiced at the prestigious Hawaiian Eye Center as well as at the Lafayette Eye Center and North Cascade Eye Associates here in the Pacific Northwest.

BACKGROUND: Dr. Ballon first received his BA in East Asian Studies, 1981. Dr. Ballon speaks and writes fluent Mandrin.
In 1988, Dr. Ballon received his Medical Degree from the Medical College of Virginia. His internship, Internal Medicine, was completed at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. During 1989-1992, Dr. Ballon’s Residency was completed at the renowned Duke University Eye Center.
Dr. Ballon loves to play tennis. He practices yoga and relaxes through Chinese watercolor painting.
